Two manuscript copies of the first commercial treaty between Thailand and the United States. The "Convention of Amity and Commerce," 1833, was negotiated by U.S. envoy Edmund Roberts, merchant and diplomatic agent of Portsmouth, N.H., while on a trade mission to Thailand, Vietnam, and Oman. Written in Thai.
